Bawtry occurs as settlement which lies at a point in which a Great North Road crosses the River Idle. These are in the metropolitan borough of Doncaster (part of South Yorkshire, England), on the border with Nottinghamshire, and is placed between Bircotes and Misson, on the conjunction of the A514, A631 and A638 roads. Its geographical location is 53° Xxv' Xl" North, 1° 1' West, at an elevation of around 20 metres above sea level.
Bawtry was originally a small Roman settlement. It is just south of Robin_hood_airport formerly RAF_Finningley.
